Help Open the Door to a New Home
Finding capital is the challenge. Your gift goes straight into buying the next home, which is the moment everything else becomes possible.
Give toward a new homeMore homes. More connection. More opportunities for a full life.
Hopewell operates 10 locations, soon to be 11, and is growing to support more people and families waiting on the DSO Registry. Each new Hopewell home is welcoming, accessible and personalized around the people who will live there, part of our commitment to finding the right model, not one model.
Why we are growing
Hopewell works to find the right model of housing and support for each person as their needs, preferences and goals change.
Step inside
What began as a house is now a place to call home. Thoughtfully renovated around the people who live here, it’s a space for connection, everyday routines and making it their own.
Our newest home. Take a look around and meet some of the people who now call it home.
Ways to contribute
Each one is a real piece of the next home.
Finding capital is the challenge. Your gift goes straight into buying the next home, which is the moment everything else becomes possible.
Give toward a new homeBed, kitchen tables, the comfortable chair someone claims as their own. Furnishing is what turns a set of rooms into a home.
Furnish a roomAn accessible vehicle is the difference between a life lived indoors and a life that includes appointments, jobs, family visits and Saturday plans.
Set someone’s week in motionCompanies and foundations
Sponsor a home outright, fund a renovation, furnish a whole space, or donate the flooring, paint, fixtures and appliances that stretch every renovation dollar further.
Now open Our furnishing registry. Pick a real item from the list a particular home needs, a bed, a kettle, a good armchair, and purchase it directly. See the registry
A registry gift reaches us without the buyer's name attached, so we often cannot tell who sent it. If you would like a charitable tax receipt, or simply want us to be able to thank you, send us your order confirmation and we will look after it.
What our homes are really like
Hopewell homes are welcoming, accessible and personalized spaces where people can relax, make decisions, welcome guests, share meals and build relationships in the communities they call home. Private space, warm shared rooms and everyday routines are shaped around the people who live there.
And because people change, support changes with them. For some, that may include moving toward greater independence. For others, ongoing support is what makes a full life possible. Success is defined by the person and their needs, preferences and goals.
A home is where someone finally gets to be fully, freely themselves.
No two people are the same, so no two homes are either. Each one is designed and renovated around the needs, goals and personalities of the people who live there.
What someone needs at 20 is not what they need at 40. We keep revisiting the supports and the space so the home carries on fitting the person.
A supported environment that meets people where they are, with room to move toward greater independence at their own pace, never on a schedule set by someone else.
What a home makes possible
A place that is genuinely yours, built around how you actually live. Your own space, your own routines, your own front door. And when what you want out of life changes, your home and your support change with you, instead of you having to move on and start again somewhere else.
The question every family carries is what happens next. Our answer is that there is a next, and it is planned for. Support that flexes as needs change, a team who knows your person as a person and somewhere you can picture them being happy in 10 years’ time, not just this year.
Government funding covers a great deal, but it rarely stretches to everything a new home needs, and never on the timeline families are waiting on. Community giving is what closes that gap, so a gift here goes directly to making the house a home. It becomes a room, a ramp, a kitchen table, an address someone gets to call theirs for as long as they want it.
New homes mean new teams, new leadership roles and new ways to build a career. It is also, plainly, a good place to work: see what we offer.
Where we are headed
Our Strategic Plan sets the direction for the next five years, shaped by the individuals, families, employees, partners and board members who share one goal: inclusive spaces where everyone is seen, valued and empowered to thrive.
A full life together for a lifetime.
Working closely with people, families and community to provide inclusive opportunities for a fulfilling life.
Four goals guiding our next five years
Provide exceptional services that are safe, effective and person centred.
Be known as a place where staff want to work, grow and thrive.
Build collaborative partnerships across our care community so the people we support can live a full life for a lifetime.
Build a responsive, sustainable financial strategy that supports innovation and enhances efficiency and effectiveness.
Our expansion is powered by community. Your support helps us buy, renovate and open beautiful homes where more people can belong.
