AL has been part of the Hopewell community for over 20 years. His journey began as a child in our overnight respite program, where he and his family were first introduced to the supports and connections that would shape his future.
A few years later, AL moved into supported living. The transition was not easy, but with patience, dedication, and the care of Hopewell’s staff, AL began to thrive. His sense of humour and love for music soon became his trademark, brightening the lives of everyone around him.
With the right supports, including augmentative communication devices and a structured daily routine, AL found his voice and his independence. Today, he is a proud volunteer with the Arthur Lacrosse team, serving as an assistant coach.

Whether he is sharing a good joke, enjoying music, or encouraging his team, AL continues to live a full and meaningful life."
At Hopewell, we are honoured to walk alongside AL on this journey and to celebrate the incredible person he has become.
CV first joined Hopewell as a child through our overnight respite program. As part of a busy family of five, CV’s parents relied on Hopewell for support during some of their most challenging times. Respite care became more than just a safe space. It was where CV began to build independence, confidence, and community.
Today, CV continues to thrive in a home filled with friendship, belonging, and the supports he needs to live a full life.
While at Hopewell, CV was often paired with longtime classmates and friends. These connections, nurtured over years of shared experiences, later grew into something even more meaningful when CV transitioned into a supported living home alongside those same friends.
For CV’s family, and for the families of his peers, Hopewell has helped preserve lifelong friendships and create a community where their children could grow up together. Today, CV continues to thrive in a home filled with friendship, belonging, and the supports he needs to live a full life.

Over the years, NW has taken part in a variety of programs across the City of Guelph, where he has built lasting friendships and connections. A gamer at heart, NW also shines as a comic strip writer and storyteller, sharing his creativity and humour with those around him.
With support from Hopewell and the broader community, NW continues to thrive, living a life filled with friendship, fun, and self-expression.
